Cruising Program
Weekend cruises provide an opportunity to visit a number of other
Clubs and make friends around the lake. This is one area of boating which
attracts power as well as sail boats. ABYC has a reputation for looking after
its visitors, and as such, ABYC members are always welcome at other Clubs.
Cruises are organized each season. Details about the cruise
locations, organizers, dates of skippers' meetings etc. can be found on the
Notice Board in the Sailor's Lounge. Sign up early for organized cruises
because there is a maximum number of boats which can be accommodated on each
cruise.

Sign-up sheets will be posted on the notice board before
launch. Because the host clubs need to know the number and size of visiting
boats a week ahead of time, these lists will removed on the Saturday before
each cruise. Members who are signed up and who are unable to attend are asked
to notify the Cruise Host of their change of plans. Members who have not signed
up and who wish to attend may do so, but dock-space will be first allocated to
signed member's boats, and space for latecomers will be subject to
availability.
Several of the shorter cruises will be used as opportunities
to test cruisers sailing ability. There will be a 'MAN OVERBOARD!' competition
as well as a navigation competition. Prizes will be offered.
